Highlighting the real spirit of the festive season, the Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel Dubai hosted a very special Christmas party on December 24, serving up lunch to 100 members of the Special Families Support Group (SFS) from Ajman, Dubai and Sharjah.
The group is a non-profit organisation established to provide emotional and practical assistance to families with children with special needs, in particular providing connections between those in similar circumstances.
Open to all nationalities, SFS was started 10 years ago with just three families and now has more than 100 member families across the emirates.
According to hotel General Manager Scott Butcher, the event was an uplifting occasion enjoyed by children, parents and hotel staff alike: “Christmas is the ideal time for children to get together and celebrate, and by bringing these families here for a festive lunch, our team at the Park Regis Kris Kin helped spread good cheer and felt the magic of the festive season too.”
Providing entertainment on the day was the famous Pakistani singer Huma Khawaja as well as dancers from the Dubai-based Shiamak Dawar's Dance Troupe.
Organiser Neena Nizar praised the arrangements, which, she said, resulted in happy faces and smiles all round: “We had a wonderful day -the staff were so meticulous and the service was grand.” Located in Bur Dubai, the 390-room Park Regis Kris Kris has been open for over a year and operates a full community events programme in support of charitable causes.
